My earliest and strongest artistic influences were illustrations from archaeology, anthropology and biology textbooks. I was especially obsessed with the archaeology of my Laurentian brook as a small child. There, I collected specimens and discovered artifacts, even buried a few I created myself. Today I own homes along both the Kennebecasis and Saint John River, considered the Rhine of North America. My Acadian ancestors have lived alongside these rivers for over 350 years. It all flows into the Fundy Bay where the oldest known reptile footprint fossils were recently discovered. I live and work here on my own terms, along the pulse of history and within one of the world’s great cradles of evolution, what more could I want?
