Jilipollo

avier Medellin Puyou is a Mexico based illustrator, visual artist and architecture designer. He has had different aka’s through the phases of his life, such as “Big Polla” in his very young years and “Pimp Pollo” when he used to be a scratcher. Now, as an illustrator, he works under “Jilipollo”. Ink with brush and watercolour are the techniques he uses the most, and often take cues from traditional asian arts, 70′s vintage and contemporary stuff, exotic icons and girls with a peculiar expression and mood as his inspiration.

He loves all kind of design and also art. Nevertheless, illustration is not really considered by many people design nor art, so he supposes he must be in some kind of limbo… But he believes in the endless possibilities of illustration, its distinctive personality and especially the rewarding fun of it.
