Angel Roy

His work is the result of a relation between art and anatomy and between photography and graphics.

Photographs are always the starting point of his work.Then ANGEL Roy uses graphic tools for giving a new face at urban architecture or at the Human being.

Collages, anatomical charts, dark atmospheres form part of his artistic vocabulary

He wants to show us Human being like a machine in motion, like a bio-mechanical being. He likes to emphasize body organs,branching,mechanism, marks.

In his graphic collages, anatomy push the featureless body pictures.

And it´s in the same way that he transforms urban landscapes. He changes architecture and space for giving a new vision, a new atmosphere of the city.

Born in Paris in 1975, Angel Roy is self-taught.

He bega hisn career in 90’s, in Parisian artistic squats. At this period, influenced by electro and hip-hop cultures, he organised some artistic events, mixing art, music and craft.

In 2000’s, he went live in Bretagne ,where he carried on artistic event programming.

Then, he developed a commercial activity on summer markets, selling his jewels and body henna tattoo.

In 2005, he dedicated himself to the Sculpture, Painting and Graphism, approaching the Human being conditions.

In 2008, he went back to Paris. From this time, photography and graphism become his main way of expression.

In 2010, he went to New York and felt in love of this city. He began a New project about urban photography.
