Kitty Jardenil

Kitty Jardenil is a Filipino lettering artist and graphic designer who’s lucky enough to have found her niche early in her life. Prior to her obsession with letters, Kitty was an avid-reader-turned-writer of poetry and prose, writing anything and everything she can as an angsty teenager. Even before that phase in her life, she grew up in a creative household of glitter glue, colored paper, and sequins littered on the floor.

After joining a lettering workshop during her highschool days, she realized that lettering was the middle ground of the two very different, yet similar, worlds, and thus continued practicing lettering almost every night. Her growing love for words, communication, and detail fueled her to get better, amidst the frustrations and mountains of homework.

Now a junior college student of one of the Philippines’ top art schools, Kitty juggles her time between freelance work, academics, personal projects, and being the creative director of her school’s student publication, the Benildean Press Corps. At the peak of her teenage years, during a time of transition from the angsty, almost-always-lost teenager to independent college student, she has grabbed the opportunity to work with two of the biggest companies in her country, ABS-CBN Books and San Miguel Corporation, as well as smaller but equally great local businesses. She’s also fortunate to have painted several murals, and conducted workshops to those who are interested in the art of lettering. With a little more experience and a ton of her favorite snacks, she hopes to collaborate with dream clients on fun projects in the near future.

She is currently experimenting with her style, believing that it is a continuous process that shouldn’t be forced. Along with lettering is her growing cautiousness for good.
