Left-handed painter on purpose. The same purpose which defines my paintings: the honesty that lives in imperfection, accepting that we can’t control beauty in itself.
My paintings play with pastel and saturated colors, which evokes a kind feeling of melancholy, and a gentle vision of vulnerability through humour and fun. This is known by REUMAT-OSAS, these friendly mammals which are not proportioned or symmetric at all. On the contrary, they suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, and some parts of their bodies are inflamed. They are a reflection of my own vital experience: the one of a young female painter with rheumatoid arthritis, something that I never let to become a handicap but my best ally, and my true core as an artist.
These female animals are wild, natural, and shameless when showing their imperfect bodies and their fierce claws and teeth. My aim is to evoke the freedom of the inhibited woman. They share my own illness and they are my best partners, leading me to a world full of both mistakes and opportunities to rebuild our futures everyday.
