Alaina is a Seattle artist interested in the detail and poetry of natural objects. She studied painting, drawing, and sculpture at Cornish College of the Arts, where her fascination with intricacy led her to further investigate time-intensive mediums like embroidery and ink drawing. A love for the Dutch “memento mori” still life paintings inspires her object-focused pieces, inviting the viewer to study and question the narrative behind their placement, presentation, and colors. Her work aims to speak softly in the shuffle of the bright and loud.
