In this day and age of social media, it’s always interesting to see how creatives are using different platforms to showcase their work and practice.
Lately, I’ve been super interested in the way that artists are using videos to enhance their audience engagement, and how finding more about the artist as a person can lead to insights about why they create what they create.
Here are 5 Artist’s whose YouTube channels are more than just speed edits and tutorials.
Myriam Tillson is an amazing artist from the UK, and her Youtube channel showcases her creative process. One of the key videos she posts are old sketchbook tours, which gives the viewer a really good insight into her transformation as an artist!

Struthless is an illustrator from Australia, who has an extremely interesting Youtube channel. His most popular videos of those where he draws a certain popular cartoon character. such as Peppa Pig, in 9 different styles, but it’s his more personal videos giving advice about art that drew me to his channel.

Interestingly, not only does Struthless illustrate, but he also sell merchandise and clothing, which can be found at his website!
Tanya Shatseva is an artist from Russia, who explores metaphysical and dream like states in her work. Her images are not only really stunning, but seeing the process of how a painting is created, makes you realise how much time and effort it takes to be an artist.

Beau B Frank is an artist based in the US, who paints amazing double exposure portraits. As an emerging artist, Beau uses his youtube channel to talk about the process of being an artist and I particularly like his Q&A’s, in which he talks in-depth about his art and personal philosophy.
Happy D Artist is an artist based in the US, whose work is fantastical and magical. She creates different characters that are very dreamlike and fascinating. Her Youtube channel is extremely extensive, and covers a large range of topics, such as burn out, productivity and the self doubt, which makes it an invaluable source of information.
