[H]eitor Magno is a Brazilian visual artist exploring identity through self-portraiture. Using double exposure techniques, he creates glitch images – layering and obscuring expressions and complex emotions. His striking images portray the selfie as a piece of performance art – a concept which he calls ‘selformance’.
Obsessed with technology and its affect on our behaviour, Heitor questions our willingness to expose intimate moments in our lives, and the affect that the endless repetition and recycling of imagery on social media has on our psyche.
