I am a self-taught photographer based in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. I make compositions from analog and digital photos. My aim is to create peace and tranquility in an increasingly hectic world. This is the most important visual aspect of my photography.
Ever since my childhood I have been fascinated by photography and visual art. However, at that time I didn’t have the means to actively do something with it. This changed a couple of years ago when I got burned out. To recover, I took long walks. A precious period, in which I was once again introduced to nature, architecture and the world around me. I mainly searched for quiet, deserted places and captured this with my camera. I experienced taking and editing photos as a therapy, it had a healing effect. With my current work I try to bring across to the viewer a minimalistic, peaceful image. Landscapes and architecture are the key.
Sometimes I feel like a young child again, excited and eager to learn. I follow the work of a few photographers that I admire. Their work is absolutely fascinating. They inspire me deeply and intensely on a daily basis. I hope this leads to exploring new ways of photography and that I keep developing myself.
