My sculpture consists of hyper-realistic representations of uncanny and often surreal subject matter that is psycho-sexual, organic, and anatomical, while simultaneously being both repellent and magnetic. The result of this is a body of work that is totemic of the anxiety’s that are often present in the human sub-conscious: sex, death, illness, loss of control etc. At first glance, many find this work disturbing and sometimes outright obscene. This is no accident, but it is also not the entire story. The viewer is compelled to confront his or her own attraction to imagery that may initially seem offensive.
