CODY ELLINGHAM

Cody Ellingham (b. 1991) is a photographer and creative director best known for his ongoing project, DERIVE, exploring the world’s nocturnal cities.

Ellingham’s passion for exploration began in rural New Zealand where he grew up wandering the mountains and countryside of his home town, but it was after moving to the cyberpunk megacity of Tokyo that his wanderlust and art first found form.

Along with being a nightcrawler, Ellingham has worked as a designer, commercial art director and photographer for a range of projects from Tokyo to Shanghai over the last five years, including art wall murals, multi-media photogrammetry installations, film and video productions, and creative workshops.

Ellingham has created a prolific body of work in his emerging career. His first photobook, DANCHI DREAMS, was successfully crowd-funded over 250% on Kickstarter and published in 2018 to a global audience, and he has recently published his second photobook BANGKOK PHOSPHORS.

Ellingham’s work has been featured by CNN, CityLab by the Atlantic, The Guardian, and Wired, and others.
