ADAM DIX

A selection of this work will be shown at the LA gallery Obsolete in the coming months. All the works are made through a process of layering glazes of oil paint. The technique is similar to a watercolour technique, where you go from light to dark rather than dark to light which you would do in traditional oil painting. This technique is very labour intensive, but because many of the glazes have a transparency you get colours coming through one another and creating a glow or backlight.
