Felicity Beaumont is a painter concerned with how our contemporary society relates to the body. Her work discusses notions of gaze, objectification and the idea of the recontextualised image. Since graduating in 2019, Beaumont has exhibited nationally with The Ingram Collection, The Guggleton GO FIGURE Collective, been shortlisted for the FBA Futures Collection, worked with Battersea Affordable Art Fair, The Auction Collective, DrawFor, and been handpicked to exhibit at the Art For Cure 2020 Biennial.Working with imagery from pornography, pop culture, and social media, she uses her signature cropping technique to present the figure in unconventional, awkward and abstracted contexts. Recently her paintings have developed to explore more abstracted figurative shapes, silhouettes, and she has begun incorporating embroidery into her practice; contrasting delicate threadwork with the controversial and chaotic dialogue that so often acompanies the nude body.
