Henri Dulm is a French artist born in 1956. He has been studying at the School of Fine Arts and then began as a draughtsman and a roughman in an architectural firm, doing freehand perspectives. This partly explains his skill for the representation of constructions and how to highlight them. Dulm has been painting the vertical sky of New York since his very first journey in the United States in 2006. In his paintings in the names of imaginary streets, he has been contrasting the horizontal forces of terrestrial activities with the vertical forces of the celestial aspirations. In his interpretations, Dulm evokes the moods of various lights and the atmosphere of Manhattan. The first paintings were realistic and figurative. Since 2010, the style is more impressionistic, sometimes semi-abstract.
