Evelyn is a UK born Artist.
While traditionally educated in Graphic Design, Evelyn took a break working in the corporate world for over 6 years. With her creativity put to one side, Evelyn describes eventually becoming overpowered with the need to create and took the courage to quit her corporate job and be an artist and has never regretted it or looked back.
Evelyn’s work is a mixture of abstract and figurative work with abstract shapes and realistic portraiture. This way of working was a pursuit to challenge traditional portraiture. The artist’s artwork references fashion photography to develop ideas with a fascination with beauty and the shapes and patterns within clothing.
All paintings by the artist are seen as designs. The first stage of ideas is manipulated and created on an iPad, working like a collage artist, and then the second stage is then transported onto canvas. Although all the work is designed and planned by the artist, Evelyn sees all her work as a reflection of herself as, creating her ideas is an intuitive process and reflects a mood, a feeling, a thought, or even a phrase. To reflect this further Evelyn uses colour and see this as an important element in her work and gets the greatest joy finding colour combinations and mixing colours.
