GEORGIA PESKETT

My practice is painting with oil and wax on silk and vegan silk.

It is work that examines everyday images.
Using oils combined in part with wax on silk over canvas I paint the environment around me particularly seeking out references that relate to my own state of mind.
Recently I have used the self portrait and figures seen through glass effected by the environment in the images I make.

Seeing the world as an outsider I attempt to create the sensation of being enveloped by the environment – recently undertaking a year of mentoring via the Turps Correspondence Course I have developed a new series of paintings using glass with mist or frost as a metaphor.
