My name is Arran Ross. I’m a Scottish based artist – painter, sculptor and use photography too.
I’m probably best known for my Astronaut motif, which I’ve been working with now for about 25 years.
The series forms an epic narrative, an exploration of inner space as much as any outer one- it’s a fairly eclectic mixture of influences- Magritte, de Cirico, Kubrick, Bowie etc a pop art surrealism with an otherworldly slant but at the same time a Zeitgeist too.
I’ve just completed a one year Residency over lockdown at Cyprus College of Art, which has given an added richness in terms of colour and light.
The work formed a solo show – Odyssey: An Artist’s Journey at Fidra Fine Art, Scotland.
