Canadian artist Holly Friesen was born in Saskatchewan, studied Fine Arts at John Abbott College in Montreal and York University in Toronto. After her more formal education she purchased a motorcycle and took to the road where she learned to live on her own terms by following the rivers and listening to the earth.
Friesen’s work reflects a symbiotic relationship with the land around her as she translates the poetry of the earth into exuberant and textural paintings.Â
