I always have been interested in people and their emotions, so I started drawing portraits. I draw
people I find interesting. I pick things I find interesting about their face, which could be a bored
expression or an interesting nose or anything else that catches my eye and then I add my own style
to it. That’s why I also don’t want to mimic realism. I draw the faces how I see them.
Besides that I get inspired by all kinds of things around me which is the beauty of the botanical world,
colors, other artists or things I see on the internet. I like to combine all these things and build my own
world where I can be in as long as possible. My favourite medium is gouache and sometimes I also
like to use watercolor. Currently I spend most of my time in my small sketchbook, trying to draw
something different every day. Then I often turn my sketches into a painting.
I also love to document my artistic journey on Instagram and on YouTube. Videography is another
thing I would love to get better at and find my own artistic style. I think it’s so nice when you can look
back at the art you made a year ago for example and you see how much you improved or how your
style changed. And sometimes I just remember the feeling I had at that specific time.
