Emmanuel Fabriol’s painting work today essentially revolves around the dialogue that man can maintain with nature, in his relationship to natural spaces, in his place of being alive in our contemporary era.
In his paintings, he uses a figurative language composed of objects, characters or animals that take place in landscape spaces, they are there to bring a scale, a temporality, a geography, a relationship to normality.
The construction of his paintings, this fact of imagination and documents gleaned here and there. It is created gradually by a series of accidents.
There is no preconceived idea at the start in his creations. It is the painting that guides him throughout the process, until the final image.
From these images, Emmanuel Fabriol tries to bring out a poetry, an absurdity, a paradox, an imaginary, criticism of an era that is ever faster and more out of step with its origin.
A contemporary testimony of his own human experience.
