Graduated in Industrial Design from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Vinicius bases his production on dialogues between figurative painting and matter, transiting through object languages, sculpture and drawing. The exploration and choice of materials, mainly wood as a support, demonstrates the importance they play in the artist’s research and how their sensorial and manipulative peculiarities interfere in the perception of each work.
The use of the human figure and form as a vehicle for contact in his practice suggests the integration of the observer with the virtuality of representation and intervention in matter, proposing the transformation of the object and its handler. Influenced to this day in his works by processes and materials of common use in the manufacture and painting of surfboards, where he began his first artistic experiments.
The artist had his works in individual and group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, including an honorable mention at the Levino Fanzeres Arts Salon (2022), a solo exhibition at Galeria Luis Maluf (2023), and participation in fairs such as Art Palm Beach, SP -Art and ArtRio.
“Through painting I appropriate the human figure and form as a vehicle for dialoguing with the material construction where it is arranged, since most of my research is related to the use of wood due to peculiarities of transformation, texture and composition, but which also extend to other materials. My creative processes range from digital studies, photographs, design and preparation of supports to finalizing the representation of the image using automotive pigment techniques and acrylic paints.
I am interested in investigating and analyzing the layers that permeate the human being in the scope of self-knowledge and introspection, layers that in my quest can be materialized and transformed into visual stimuli in order to reach a greater understanding of our inner being and to immerse myself in reflections on behavior, feelings and emotions in an individualized way.”
