In the last few years I have been working on hand-drawn technical drawings of architectural characters. They are inspired by buildings or places I come across on my day to day or when getting around London. I try to bring in the history of the place as well as my own experience and feelings generated during these excursions into my art. I then combine plans, elevations and cross sections to create a representation that resonates with my idea of the place; sometimes evoking creatures halfway between the machine, insect or humanoid. I have also been applying this technique to locations rather than buildings with the result bringing a map to mind.
