Hi friends, I’m Otero Carbonell, a self-taught figurative Spanish painter. I started my journey as a professional painter back in 2014 when I started working with different art galleries from Barcelona and around Europe.
My work can be described as contemporary emotional figurative art. Humans and their inner world have been the main topic of my works since my beginnings as a painter. The characters I represent combine delicacy and harshness, melancholy and optimism, beauty and ugliness, but mostly they evoke tenderness.
This fascination of mine for understanding humans is the reason why I paint and what keeps me enjoying sitting in front of my easel every day.
