We have all seen the world through the lens of rain on a car windshield. That world is our own abstracted view which takes a seemingly solid landscape and transforms it into something otherworldly.
The Vortex series is my lens. The streets of New York City become a dizzying array of surrealraindrops adorning the color field background. Each painting in the series ranges from stunning and crispy realism to complete abstraction, and sometimes a mix as rain streaks divide the
plane. Ultimately, the city is no longer steel and neon, but has become a melting pot of light, line, shape, and color.
