As a painter who works from direct observation, I move between subject matter with still life being apart of that whole. When I am fortunate to recognize it, I am drawn to imagery that is found over imagery that is created. I certainly work with both formats but the found subjects seem to offer something unexpected or may provide more obstacles in order to reach a resolution.
