“We are an island nation, and I feel a connection to the sea in my bones having always lived near the sea. Coastal places often evoke happy and poignant memories for us all, particularly if we spent our childhood holidays by the sea. I love to draw coastal places in my sketchbooks using black pen, and then play with the image, changing the scale and adding colour to create small textile pieces and large paintings.”
