A first class graduate of world-renowned Central St. Martins school of Art, Daren has spent much of his career working as a creative director for several global branding agencies. He was responsible for creating many well known brands, and still works with high profile clients around the world.
His sharp branding instinct and graphic sensibilities are reflected in his simple, bold and occasionally provocative work, which playfully explores the role of artists, collectors and a sometimes sceptical public in the current art market.
Design is about providing answers, Daren’s art is about asking questions.
IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY
Much of Daren’s work explores the subjective nature of art. ‘If you have Nothing Nice to Say’ is an invitation to the ‘I could’ve done that’ crowd to keep their opinions to themselves.
“I consider much of my work ‘dinner party art’–art that’s dying to be discussed, dissected and disagreed upon.
On the surface, this work is a cheeky dig at ‘opinions’ about art and how different people respond to it. But dig a little deeper and read between the lines—it’s also a commentary on women’s liberty (or lack of) throughout history.”

An art dealer recently warned me of the surging market in fake prints. It’s well documented, and a good friend of mine has been an unsuspecting victim.
If a work of art owns up to, and is obviously, a fake, does that make it a work of art in it’s own right?
