ALISA LARIUSHKINA

I’m a self-taught artist and I’ve been working with air-dry clay for over 10 years, but I discovered my passion for sculpting clay paintings around five years ago. The idea of creating textured landscapes with a sense of movement felt especially inspiring to me. I came to this technique gradually – it all began with making small brooches, and over time my work evolved into larger, more expressive pieces.

Each small piece of clay is shaped by hand and glued to the canvas. A single artwork, sized 21×30 cm, can take over 70 hours to complete.

Most of my pieces are created without a strict sketch or plan, the process unfolds naturally. I find inspiration in spending time in nature and observing the world around me: swaying grass in the wind, drifting clouds, birds in flight. These quiet, ever-changing moments often guide my hands more than any drawing could.
