Sheri Gee is a British fine artist, specialising in oil painting, based in East Grinstead. With a degree in Illustration, Gee has developed her fine art practice over many years, through private focus, short courses and life drawing, whilst working part-time and raising a family.
Painted in oil on either panel or canvas, the aim of this on-going series of works is to explore a subtle introspective narrative. The paintings reflect a snatched, quiet moment between the hectic responsibilities of work or motherhood, in the brief interlude of the commute.
Her work has been exhibited with The Other Art Fair, The Sussex Contemporary, and the Society of Women Artists, amongst others. Gee was a finalist in the 2018 Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize (now Women in Art). One of Gee’s portraits was included in the book Portraits for NHS Heroes (Bloomsbury, 2020).
