The work of Łukasz Wodyński centers around the subject of man and the deep existential background associated with it.
Apart from classical visual techniques such as drawing and painting artist uses in his projects many kinds of new media techniques like installation, sound, graphics and digital photography as well as video. He’s also carrying out Live Acts (interdisciplinary projects constituting the synthesis of the theater, performance and of visual arts using his own body as a medium). Despite the expressive form derived from the New Figuration or Viennese Actionism artist also takes inspiration from classical art using for example multi-layered painting methods.
In 1999 Łukasz Wodyński started his education in The School Of Fine Arts in Bydgoszcz on degree subject – graphic. Five years later he get degree certificate in Franciszek Otto atelier. Since 2005 he continued his education at The Faculty of Fine Arts, Universitas Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń – the direction of easel painting with painting in architecture speciality. In 2010 he received an painting honors degree in prof. Piotr Klugowski atelier. In 2011 he co-founded “Les Artes” Foundation for Development and Creative Activity in Toruń, where he taught drawing and painting techniques. He also collaborates with various artists, illustrating music releases, creating videos and and creating the visual sound projects.
