Creative arts have always been a passion for me. It’s a chance for me to release the tensions and anxieties in my day to day life, whether it’s Art or Music, the start of lockdown and being made redundant from my job was eye opening (in a good way) as this was my chance to use the free time I wish I had to do something meaningful.
I decided to pick up the brushes and/or scissors and begin. I did art at school but it was never my strong suit up until March last year when the real shit happened.
There are no limitations in creating art, when people ask what I use I tell them use anything and everything around you to create, it works if you put your mind to it. I started acrylic painting then moved on to cutting up old Guiness world record books and old magazines.
Ive also experimented with techniques such as painting with tea, extracting ink from printed magazines that I had glued down, burnt paper and finger printing instead of a brush. Using different coloured card for background and using coloured paper clips as an alternative to glue is also something I experimented with.
