Jane’s passion as a painter is finding emotion and mood in the abstracted landscape through sensitive use of color and texture. The horizon line is an intuitive departure point in her work which hovers somewhere between realism and abstraction. Working in oil and cold wax as well as acrylic, her style can best be described as intuitive expressionism. Jane does not work from reference photos preferring instead to access her memories and imagination to paint landscapes that are universal in appeal and entice the viewer with their atmospheric effects.
