I am an Irish-Japanese contemporary artist based in Dublin, Ireland. I am represented by the Molesworth gallery here in Dublin, and am working with the Panter and Hall gallery in London. My cultural background has been a major influence on my work and is a frequent theme in my paintings. I begin with photography; I work from photos that my grandfather on the Japanese side of my family took over half a century ago, as well as photos I take myself, of friends and those around me. My practice is guided by the compulsion to continually improve my own artistic vision in order to eventually create something that is truly unique and innovative in the field of painting, where the depicted figures exude a powerful sensation of presence and allure to the viewer.
