Samantha Eyers was born in London on the 7th October 1988. Now living in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. She studied a foundation course in Art & Design at Southgate College and then went to Middlesex University where she completed a 3 year course and received a
BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art. She’s currently working on and continues to work on commissions for her established and expanding client base.
While I was studying at University, I discovered a German abstract artist called Gerhard Richter. I really grew to like his work, his CAGE 6 Paintings at The Tate Modern is a favourite and I have visited many times during my time at University.
I am interested in the process of painting and how different colours are mixed together to create a ‘torn’ effect. I have a huge passion for nature, especially trees and am fascinated with the structure of the trunks and branches, which remind me of human skeletons.
In some of my work I use black ink to paint and draw trees onto hand painted abstract backgrounds, creating colourful abstract art in a variety of colours. It has been known that my audience have found images within my abstracts such as human faces and animals.
