I am making small works based in perceptual (mis) understanding and abstraction. Less so, toward abstraction. Guess you could day I am trying to see how much I can leave out or modify without losing the referenced light. Also, very cognicent of keeping the work a painting and not a, picture done in paint. That is the general goal. My work is often categorized as academic but I don’t see it that way since I was not schooled academically but in the idea of design and arrangement of shapes are at the heart of painting and I subscribe to that idea.
