The work that I create is essentially my attempt to communicate something about the human story and our place within larger biological and universal systems. That could look like an evolutionary story or it can be the story of how our brains perceive stimuli and create our reality. Regardless, each of my pieces is partially a form of science communication, and then I put it out in the world and see how it sticks on people; I love that aspect of it as well.
Einstein once said “Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better”. And that quote really encompasses why I make what I make. I truly believe that in understanding ourselves and the universe that we are a part of and in understanding natural systems and the balance that they rely on, it allows us to reevaluate our place in the living world; to alter our perspective.
