My name is Matt and I am a watercolour artist based in the U.K. Although I have always loved painting with watercolours I had never properly explored its possibilities as a medium until about five years ago when I started painting regularly. Instantly hooked I continued to paint and one year later sold my first painting. Since then I have continued to explore watercolour and now sell paintings worldwide.
I feel extremely lucky to live in the South West of England, where I get a lot of inspiration from the beaches and seas that surround me. I enjoy beautiful countryside walks with my wife Jayne and dog Coco. I will quite often take my camera with me to get some more material for when I am back in my studio.
 I love to capture mood and atmosphere in my paintings and watercolour is such an amazing medium for doing this. I love the looseness of watercolour and how it flows on the paper. I am at at my happiest when painting.
