The human condition
Gugi is inspired by daily life, particularly the human condition and the various forms of connection between individuals. She is also influenced by music, lyricism and the power of words. In her paintings, she strives to communicate the sensation of being moved by rhythm and music. Her fundamental goal as an artist is to express the most profound human emotions through an exploration of her personal experiences and feelings.
Abstract expression
Gugi Goo’s abstract paintings are highly personal and expressive, so she often works on large canvases which allow greater freedom for experimentation. She focuses on manipulating color and light with her gestural brushstrokes, creating her own visual language that opens up a new reality.
Artist on the rise
Gugi Goo has exhibited widely across Europe, in Serbia, Croatia, Italy, Spain and the UK. She has also shown her work at the Affordable Art Fair in Hamburg, Germany and the Other Art Fair in London. In 2018 she was Highly Commended for the Rise Art Prize.
She finished Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad , Serbia and Master course in Accademia de Belle Arti di Brera, in Milan, Italy. She currently lives and work in Lisbon, Portugal.
