I am a Serbian-born watercolor painter, currently living and working in Canada. My turbulent life experiences of forced emigration from my homeland by civil war, the loss of my father at a young age, and my own chronic illness and physical limitations have influenced my choice of medium, with the fluid, unpredictable nature of watercolor assisting in my expression of the fluid, unpredictable reality that has ever been at the core of my experience. I aim for more expressive, rather than strictly realistic paintings, and often emphasize the disorder of watercolor, choosing to work with the chaos it can create, rather than overly control it. My paintings are fragments of my soul, expressions of my life history and emotional landscape.
