Abandoned, derelict, unusual and isolated buildings and structures form the main subject of my work. Now without purpose and no longer performing their function I’m drawn to their forlorn, enigmatic and eerie presence and I try to capture that atmosphere within my work.
Zoë Marsden is originally from the north-west of England but now resides in Wellington, New Zealand.
Zoë earned a Bachelor of Fine Art from Bath School of Art and a Post Graduate Diploma in Scenic Painting from Bristol Old Vic. She had an extensive 18yr career in the film industry as a painter and prosthetic make-up artist before returning full-time to her art practice in 2022.
