KICKI EDGREN

A story can be told through someone’s gaze or posture. My paintings depict people, emotions, and perhaps life-changing moments. Inspired by abstract and street art, I use vibrant colors, rough lines, and dynamic contrasts to exaggerate expressions. Acrylic paint, which dries quickly, allows me to be bold and free. The process is a collaboration between me and the painting, as the strokes and lines come alive before my eyes, sometimes surprising me.

The paintings I attach were made recently, in the spring of 2024, where the motifs became more introverted than in earlier pieces. Life was challenging during this period, and I needed to find the core, the silence, and calmness in order to recover and reclaim myself. The technique remains the same, perhaps more elegant in all its rawness.
