Sorcha Edward is an illustrator and graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, whose work embodies the uncanny and mysterious. Having enjoyed many years spent collaborating and taking commissions on a wide range of projects, including film concept art, graphic novels, poster design, album covers and a year long stint as a creative director, Sorcha is now taking her attention back to her own personal vision. Drawing from a deep well of personal experience, she explores themes of magic, symbology, and the mystical through her art.
Raised in an environment immersed in the concept of ‘the other’ and alternative realities, Sorcha’s upbringing allowed her to use her interest in seeing beyond the surface and reading between the lines to uncover hidden meanings and unseen worlds. This perspective allows her to craft magical, symbolic imagery that evokes a sense of wonder and the unknown.
Sorcha approaches her craft as a form of storytelling, layering her illustrations with symbols that invite the viewer to dive deeper, deciphering the narrative woven into each piece. In her art she hopes to serve as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious, offering a glimpse into the hidden forces shaping reality.
