My mixed media art speaks through architectural forms and is an appeal for the human scale. With a background in historic building conservation, I see our built environment as a reflection of human history. It tells us about our past, present and future desires. I depict both architecture observed and architectural fantasies, touching on both the familiar and unreal. While I don’t often include people in my work, my art is ultimately about us and what we build.
You can make your own connections or see your own stories in my art. The places I’m personally most connected to and draw inspiration from are places I’ve lived: Canada, Italy, the UK and the Netherlands. I transitioned back to art to pursue a more immediate form of expression and as a way to create new worlds with elements of the old.
