KIM ROBERTS

People often remark that my mountain landscape paintings are bold, colorful and peaceful at the same time.

As a long-time meditator, I try to practice presence. So I paint the mountain landscape from this perspective. I’m not aiming for a literal depiction of the landscape. I think of the process as a translation of presence.

I am present with the mountains. We develop a relationship. We experience each other’s moods And circumstances. Then I paint. So, rather than a technical translation, my pieces share a love story: between the mountains and my experience of the present moment. Being present is an act of love. When we slow down to listen to each other, we witness each other. We hold space for love and peace.

My hope and intention is to invite the viewer into an experience of presence and peace and to discover the love story in their own heart.
