My series of paintings explore the fleeting nature of vacation—those rare two weeks out of fifty-two when most Americans step away from work and daily obligations. In these short windows of escape, I capture what people do when they’re finally free: resting, wandering, indulging, connecting. Through each image, I try to imagine their inner world—what they’re thinking, feeling, or hoping for in these brief, precious moments of freedom in unfamiliar places. It’s a quiet reflection on how we seek meaning, pleasure, and self in the limited time we’re given to simply be.
