Hello I am Bo! And first of all I should say, as an artist, nothing could ever put me in a box. (Not even a box.) Secondly, I’ll tell you that my art is primarily about feeling. I have my own set of abstract intuitive/feeling based criteria which guides me as I work. I try to be present with my feelings when creating, and because of this I rarely have an idea of what the end result will look like. I always say “I’ll Know it when I see it and vice versa.” This allows for exploration, of which the results can mostly be attributed to a mix of both conscious and unconscious decision making. This adds certainty to my work, while also keeping it in a place that resonates unconsciously and unexplainably. Like a heavy cement block, with wings. As though it’s there and unmistakable, yet not to be understood on any sort of “thinking” or “figuring out” level. When someone has responded to my work on a deep feeling level I know I have done my job. These paintings and drawings are truly for myself and for others, in equal measure, a balance which keeps me motivated, and leaves me without a doubt that this is the work I know I want to be doing,
