Hannah Greasley

Interested in the idealisation of the female form throughout art history, Hannah Greasley’s newest body of work intends to exhibit the juxtaposition of the ideal and the reality. The large scale oil paintings depict areas of detailed flesh featuring ‘flaws’, that subside into soft serene female nudes, whilst the play of composition and perspective allow for a less voyeuristic atmosphere as if the audience lay beside the model.
