Marc Gooderham

I’m a cityscape painter based in London. Concentrating on the urban landscape. Compositions, with light and shade being the prime focus. My influences are painters such as Edward Hopper and the Ashcan school of artists, John French Sloane and George Bellows. As well as The Camden Town Group and The East London Group of painters for their gritty realism.

Loneliness and isolation is always inherent within my paintings. The impact of living in a major city can have at times. I wanted to capture the ever-changing face of the city. To recreate a moment in time. The street art which is prevalent is another key aspect which in turn changes overnight.
