Vienna-based photographer and software engineer Lukas Furlan travels the world with his camera in hand, capturing the stunning beauty of Mother Nature.
The self-taught photographer’s impressive portfolio of landscape photography showcases his incredible talent, as well as his keen eye for capturing the captivating
colors and patterns of otherworldly locations.
The photographer began taking photographs around 10 years ago when he bought his first DSLR camera.
“Inspiration came from the nearly endless possibilities to take images, like long exposures or different focal lengths to get a visual representation that varies
strongly from what we as humans perceive with our own eyes,” he tells.
“In addition, photography is a great motivation to discover new places and to get out of
your comfort zone.” From the painterly swirls of rocky terrains to night skies dotted with glittering stars, Furlan’s photos instantly induce a strong case of wanderlust.
The photographer has shot in a number of the world’s most beautiful locations, including the mountainous Scottish Highlands, the vibrant deserts of Nevada and Utah,
and the dreamlike world of Northern Vietnam.
However, the photographer tells us that his favorite place to shoot is the surrounding Alp and Dolomite areas near his hometown, South Tyrol, Northern Italy.
He says, “I guess the main reason for that is the possibility to revisit a specific location multiple times and not to worry about having a tight schedule.”
His incredible images capture the magical alpine region, full of striking rock formations and steep mountain peaks.
