JAMES HUNTER

James Hunter (b. 1989) is a British contemporary landscape painter living and working in Norwich, Norfolk. In his creative practice, James explores the theme of Suburbia, honing in on the relationship between the built and natural world. Working mainly in oils, he uses tightly cropped compositions, bold colour and immersive light to create snap shots of moments in time.

“In my work I try to capture the beauty and complexity of ordinary, everyday suburban life. I’m particularly drawn to the abstract shapes and colours that both the built and natural environment can provide, and how these two worlds interact when they traverse one another.
